Garlic Butter Pasta

Description

A simple and quick pasta dish with a rich garlic butter sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Do not let it brown.
  4. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter.
  5. Toss to coat the pasta. Add Parmesan cheese and parsley.
  6. Add a splash of the reserved pasta water to create a sauce. Toss until well combined and the sauce coats the pasta.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream.
  • Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a complete meal.
