Description

A simple, fresh recipe for tuna salad served in avocado halves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 can (5 ounces) tuna in water, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits.
  2. Scoop out a small amount of the avocado flesh from the center of each half to create a larger well for the filling. Set the scooped flesh aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, and lemon juice.
  4. Mash the reserved avocado flesh slightly and mix it into the tuna mixture.
  5. Season the tuna salad with salt and pepper.
  6. Spoon the tuna salad mixture evenly into the four avocado halves.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise for a lighter filling.
  • Add a dash of hot sauce for a spicy flavor.
