Description
This Tom and Jerry drink is a classic, rich, and warming holiday cocktail, perfect for festive gatherings. It features a spiced batter mixed with brandy and rum, topped with hot milk.

- 12 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of allspice
- 1/2 cup dark rum
- 1/2 cup brandy
- Hot milk, for serving
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add 1/2 cup of the sugar to the egg yolks, beating until well combined and pale.
- Stir in the cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice into the yolk mixture.
- In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup sugar to the egg whites, beating until glossy and firm.
- Gently fold the spiced egg yolk mixture into the beaten egg whites. This is your Tom and Jerry batter.
- To make a drink, place 2-3 tablespoons of the batter into a heatproof mug or glass.
- Add 1 ounce of dark rum and 1 ounce of brandy to the mug.
- Fill the mug with hot milk, stirring gently to combine.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- The batter can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum and brandy.
