- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your desired consistency.
- Add the chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper, and minced jalapeño (if using) to the bowl.
- Mix all ingredients gently until just combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, use a potato masher.
- If you prefer less heat, remove all seeds and white membranes from the jalapeño.
- To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
