Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Add the chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, pepper, and minced jalapeño (if using) to the bowl.
  4. Mix all ingredients gently until just combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, use a potato masher.
  • If you prefer less heat, remove all seeds and white membranes from the jalapeño.
  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
