Description
A refreshing iced tea infused with warm Thanksgiving spices and sweet pear.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 pear, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 star anise
- Ice for serving
- Pear slices for garnish
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and discard.
- Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, sliced pear, cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise to the tea.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugars dissolve.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a pitcher, discarding solids.
- Refrigerate until well chilled.
- Serve over ice, garnished with pear slices.
Notes
- Adjust sugar to your preference.
- Use any type of black tea.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
