A refreshing and festive drink perfect for Thanksgiving gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 bottle (750ml) sparkling cider or champagne
- Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, orange juice, water, sugar, and orange zest in a saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Strain the mixture, discarding the solids. Chill the cranberry-orange syrup.
- To serve, pour 2-3 tablespoons of syrup into each glass.
- Top with sparkling cider or champagne.
- Garnish with orange slices.
Notes
- For a less sweet drink, reduce the sugar.
- You can make the syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
