Description
A festive and refreshing berry sangria perfect for Thanksgiving gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Merlot or Pinot Noir)
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
- 1/4 cup cranberry juice
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
- 1 cup mixed berries (cranberries, raspberries, blueberries)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Sparkling water or club soda, for topping
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, orange juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the mixed berries, sliced orange, sliced apple, and cinnamon stick to the pitcher.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, stir the sangria. Pour into wine glasses filled with ice.
- Top each glass with a splash of sparkling water or club soda.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less sugar.
- You can substitute other fruits like pears or pomegranate seeds.
- For a non-alcoholic version, use grape juice or cranberry juice instead of wine and omit the brandy and orange liqueur.
