Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, water, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked turkey. Stir to coat.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Divide the cooked rice among serving bowls.
  6. Spoon the teriyaki turkey mixture over the rice.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken for turkey if desired.
  • For extra flavor, add a dash of rice vinegar to the sauce mixture.
