Description
This refreshing watermelon basil gin fizz is perfect for a summer party. It is light, fruity, and herbaceous.
Ingredients

- 4 cups cubed watermelon
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- Club soda or sparkling water to top
- Ice
- Lime slices and basil sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon and basil leaves. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the watermelon and basil mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher or bowl, pressing to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, lime juice, simple syrup, and 3 ounces of the watermelon basil juice.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until chilled, about 15-20 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into an ice-filled glass.
- Top with club soda or sparkling water.
- Garnish with a lime slice and a basil sprig.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less simple syrup.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the gin and increase the watermelon basil juice and top with club soda.
- You can make the watermelon basil juice ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
