Description
This refreshing blueberry basil smash mocktail is perfect for summer parties. It’s a vibrant, alcohol-free drink that everyone can enjoy.

- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
- Ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine blueberries and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, until blueberries burst and soften.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Transfer the blueberry mixture to a blender. Add basil leaves, lime juice, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher or jar, pressing on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice. Pour about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the blueberry-basil mixture into each glass.
- Top with sparkling water or club soda.
- Gently stir and garnish with fresh basil leaves and a few whole blueberries, if desired.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to your liking.
- For a thinner consistency, add a little more water when blending.
- This concentrate can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
