Description
A refreshing and classic strawberry lemonade recipe perfect for a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6–8 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 cups cold water
- Ice for serving
- Fresh lemon slices and strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and ½ cup of the water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove seeds. Discard solids.
- Add the lemon juice and sugar to the pitcher with the strained strawberry puree. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add the remaining 5 ½ cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed by adding more sugar or lemon juice.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh lemon slices and strawberries if desired.
Notes
- For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the amount of sugar.
- You can make a simple syrup by heating equal parts water and sugar until the sugar dissolves, then cooling it. This helps the sugar dissolve more easily in cold liquids.
- Leftover lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
