Description
Crispy baked cauliflower florets coated in a sweet and sticky Coca-Cola glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup Coca-Cola (regular, not diet)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add the cauliflower florets to the dry mixture and toss until fully coated.
- Spread the coated florets in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- While the cauliflower bakes, prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the Coca-Cola, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Remove the cauliflower from the oven. In a large bowl, toss the hot cauliflower with the prepared glaze until evenly coated.
- Return the glazed cauliflower to the baking sheet.
- Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
- Toss with vegetable oil before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the florets with cooking spray before the first bake.
- You can garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
