Description
Simple recipe for tender chicken cooked in salsa verde using a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa verde
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced green chiles, undrained
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Pour salsa verde over the chicken.
- Sprinkle cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Remove chicken and shred using two forks.
- Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Serve this chicken over rice or in tortillas for tacos.
- You can add one can of drained black beans during the last 30 minutes of cooking for extra substance.
