A simple recipe for tender pork cooked in a sweet and tangy brown sugar balsamic sauce using a slow cooker.

- 2 lb pork shoulder, trimmed
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the pork in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the pork is easily shredded.
- Remove the pork and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded pork to the sauce and stir to coat.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the liquid from the slow cooker after cooking and simmer it on the stovetop until reduced.
- This pork is excellent served over rice or mashed potatoes.
