Description
Simple recipe for baked chicken thighs coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dried ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs, skin-side down, for 5 to 7 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
- While the chicken sears, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, dried ginger, pepper, and salt in a small bowl.
- Flip the chicken thighs in the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce evenly over the chicken.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
- Remove the skillet from the oven. Let the chicken rest in the skillet for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon extra sauce from the pan over the chicken.
Notes
- You can use boneless, skinless thighs; reduce the baking time by about 5 to 8 minutes.
- For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken after baking and simmer the remaining sauce in the skillet on the stovetop for 2 to 3 minutes.
