Description

Simple recipe for shrimp wrapped in bacon, cooked until crisp.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound thin-cut bacon, cut in half crosswise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Take one half-slice of bacon and wrap it around each shrimp. Secure the bacon with a toothpick inserted through the shrimp and bacon.
  4. Place the wrapped shrimp on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the shrimp is cooked through.

Notes

  • You can brush the shrimp with a glaze, such as a mix of brown sugar and soy sauce, during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra flavor.
  • If you prefer a crispier bacon, you can finish the shrimp under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
