- 1 pound mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, fish)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Cook the mixed seafood until just done. Drain well and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for one minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the white wine, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cook for two minutes.
- Fold the cooked seafood into the sauce. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the top evenly with the Gruyere cheese and then the breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
- You can use frozen seafood; thaw and drain it completely before use.
- For extra flavor, add 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley to the sauce.
