Description
A classic Scotch cocktail, the Rob Roy is a sophisticated drink similar to a Manhattan, but made with Scotch whisky.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz Scotch whisky
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Maraschino cherry or lemon twist for garnish
Instructions
- Combine Scotch whisky, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice.
- Stir well until thoroughly chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry or a lemon twist.
Notes
- For a ‘dry’ Rob Roy, use dry vermouth instead of sweet vermouth.
- For a ‘perfect’ Rob Roy, use equal parts sweet and dry vermouth.
- Adjust the amount of vermouth to your taste.
