A modern classic cocktail featuring Scotch, lemon, ginger, and honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz Blended Scotch
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
- 1/4 oz Islay single malt Scotch
Instructions
- Combine blended Scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup in a shaker.
- Fill shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Float the Islay single malt Scotch on top by pouring it gently over the back of a spoon.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or candied ginger (optional).
Notes
- To make honey-ginger syrup: Combine 1 cup honey, 1 cup water, and 1 cup peeled and sliced fresh ginger in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes. Strain and let cool.
- Adjust the amount of honey-ginger syrup to your sweetness preference.
- Using a peaty Islay Scotch is key to the drink’s signature smoky aroma.
