Description
A simple recipe for creamy garlic pasta cooked entirely in one pot.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pasta (fettuccine or linguine recommended)
- 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the pasta, broth, minced garlic, salt, and pepper into a large pot or Dutch oven.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, until the pasta is nearly tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese.
- Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the pasta.
- Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash more broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
- You can add cooked chicken or mushrooms during the last five minutes of cooking for added substance.
