Description

Simple rolled French toast filled with sweet Nutella spread.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices sandwich bread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Nutella
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts from the bread slices.
  2. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread thinly.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Spread about 1 teaspoon of Nutella evenly over the surface of each flattened bread slice.
  5. Roll each slice tightly starting from one end.
  6. Dip each rolled slice briefly into the egg mixture, turning to coat all sides.
  7. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  8. Place the rollups seam-side down in the skillet.
  9. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  10. Remove from skillet and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving for extra sweetness.
