- 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup prepared horseradish
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water. Add the lemon halves and Old Bay seasoning. Bring to a boil.
- Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
- Drain the shrimp and immediately transfer to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process.
- Once the shrimp are chilled, drain again and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- Chill the cocktail sauce until ready to serve.
- Arrange the shrimp on a platter or in individual serving glasses. Serve with the chilled cocktail sauce.

- You can adjust the amount of horseradish and hot sauce to your preferred level of spice.
- Make the cocktail sauce ahead of time for easier preparation.
