Description
A simple pasta dish featuring a bright lemon and butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound linguine pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest.
- Add the drained linguine to the skillet. Toss to coat.
- Add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until a light sauce forms that coats the pasta.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, add a splash of heavy cream with the pasta water.
- You can add cooked shrimp or grilled chicken for a complete meal.
