A quick recipe for a flavorful ground beef bowl with Korean-style sauce.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon gochujang (optional)
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and gochujang (if using).
- Pour the sauce mixture over the ground beef. Stir well to coat.
- Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Divide the cooked rice among four bowls.
- Spoon the ground beef mixture over the rice.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
- For extra heat, increase the amount of gochujang.
- Serve with steamed broccoli or kimchi for added vegetables.
