Description

Spicy Jamaican jerk seasoned chicken filling wrapped in dumpling dough and cooked.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup jerk seasoning paste
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped scallions
  • 1 package wonton or dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing
  • Vegetable oil for frying or steaming

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, jerk seasoning paste, soy sauce, ginger, and scallions. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  2. Place about one teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water.
  4. Fold the wrapper in half to form a half-moon shape, pressing firmly to seal the edges, or crimp as desired.
  5. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
  6. To cook, steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes until the filling is cooked through, or pan-fry until golden brown on both sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, serve with a side of sweet chili sauce.
  • You can substitute pre-made jerk marinade for the paste if needed.
  • If steaming, line the steamer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
