- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, ketchup, white vinegar, brown sugar, and soy sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the simmering sauce, whisking constantly.
- Continue to cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar to your taste preference.
