Description

A simple recipe for making Mexican pizza at home using tortillas and ground beef.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup refried beans, warmed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  4. Place four tortillas on the baking sheet. Spread an even layer of refried beans over each tortilla.
  5. Top the beans with a layer of the cooked ground beef mixture.
  6. Place the remaining four tortillas on top of the beef layer.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the tortillas are slightly crisp.
  8. Remove from the oven. Sprinkle shredded cheese, black olives, and salsa over the top layer.
  9. Return to the oven for 2 to 3 minutes, until the cheese melts.
  10. Slice into wedges and serve with sour cream, if desired.

Notes

  • You can use pre-cooked shredded chicken instead of ground beef for a different flavor.
  • Bake the tortillas separately for 5 minutes before adding toppings for extra crispness.
