Description
A spooky and delicious Halloween-themed dessert featuring layers of chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and gummy worms, resembling a graveyard.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 (14.3 ounce) package chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies, crushed
- 1 cup gummy worms
- 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
- Optional: Halloween candy for decoration
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, crush the chocolate sandwich cookies until they resemble dirt.
- In individual serving cups or a large trifle dish, layer the ingredients. Start with a layer of crushed cookies at the bottom to represent soil.
- Next, add a layer of chocolate pudding.
- Arrange some gummy worms on top of the pudding layer, allowing some to ‘crawl out’ of the ‘dirt’.
- Repeat the layers: crushed cookies, pudding, and gummy worms, until your serving dishes are full.
- Top the final layer with whipped topping, creating a smooth surface for the ‘graveyard’.
- Decorate with additional crushed cookies to create a ‘mound’ for graves.
- Add any desired Halloween candy decorations like candy tombstones or candy pumpkins.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the pudding to set and the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use whole milk for the pudding.
- You can use different types of crushed cookies, such as oreo or graham crackers.
- Chill the dessert thoroughly for best results.
- Prepare this dessert ahead of time for parties.
