- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried chives
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat or roll the dough to about 3/4 inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds. Place the rounds on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons of melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and chives.
- Brush the tops of the biscuits generously with the garlic herb butter mixture.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
Notes
- For softer biscuits, place them close together on the baking sheet.
- You can use dried parsley and chives if fresh are not available, adjust amounts to 1/2 teaspoon each.
