Description

Simple recipe for pan-seared pork chops cooked in garlic butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 thick-cut pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Place the pork chops in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
  5. As the butter melts, tilt the skillet and use a spoon to baste the pork chops with the melted garlic butter for about 1 minute.
  6. Add the dried thyme to the butter mixture and continue basting for another minute.
  7. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use pork chops that are at least 1 inch thick.
  • If your chops are thinner, reduce the searing time to prevent overcooking.
