Description

Small sandwiches featuring crispy fried chicken pieces on slider buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 12 small slider buns
  • Butter, softened
  • Pickle slices (optional)
  • Sauce of choice (e.g., mayonnaise, hot sauce)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
  3. Dip each chicken piece first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture, pressing to coat well.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully place chicken pieces into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry for 4-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  7. Remove chicken from oil and place on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Lightly butter the cut sides of the slider buns.
  9. Toast the buns lightly in a dry skillet or under a broiler until golden.
  10. Assemble the sliders: place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom bun, top with your chosen sauce and pickle slices if using, and cover with the top bun.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can double-dip the chicken in the flour mixture.
  • Adjust seasoning in the flour mix to your taste preference.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken for safety.
