Description
A refreshing, fruit-filled red wine punch perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the sliced orange, sliced apple, cranberries, and cinnamon stick to the pitcher.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- When ready to serve, stir the sangria well.
- Pour the sangria into glasses filled with ice. If desired, top each glass with a splash of chilled sparkling water or club soda.
Notes
- You can substitute the apple with pears for a different flavor profile.
- Use firm, ripe fruit for the best infusion.
- Make sure the wine is chilled before mixing for a quicker chill time.
