Description
Oven-baked sweet potato fries seasoned with a simple Cajun spice blend for a crispy exterior and tender interior.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Cut them into uniform fry shapes, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Do not peel them.
- In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with the olive oil until they are lightly coated.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper to create the Cajun seasoning.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the sweet potato fries and toss again until the seasoning is evenly distributed.
- Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Avoid overcrowding the pans; use two sheets if necessary for crispiness.
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the cooking time, until they are tender inside and crispy outside.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them thoroughly.
- If you do not have parchment paper, lightly grease the baking sheets with oil.
