Description

Crispy french fries tossed with a savory crab seasoning blend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon crab seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat them completely dry.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot to 325°F (160°C).
  3. Fry the potatoes in batches until they are pale and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fry the potatoes a second time until golden brown and crisp, about 2-4 minutes. Remove and drain well.
  6. Place the hot fries in a large bowl. Sprinkle immediately with the crab seasoning and salt. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use a thermometer to monitor oil temperature.
  • You can substitute air frying for deep frying; follow your air fryer’s instructions for cooking potatoes until crisp.
