Description

A warm and spiced rum cocktail perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz dark rum
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 oz hot water
  • 1 oz hot milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mug, combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  2. Stir until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the dark rum.
  4. Pour in the hot water and stir well.
  5. If desired, stir in the hot milk.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and use spiced apple cider instead of hot water.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a star anise.
