Description
A recipe for making crisp, savory crackers using chickpeas and various seeds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup flax seeds
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chickpea flour, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add the olive oil and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until a thick, uniform dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half. Place one half between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll the dough out very thinly, aiming for about 1/16 inch thickness.
- Remove the top sheet of parchment paper. Score the dough into cracker shapes using a pizza cutter or knife.
- Carefully transfer the bottom parchment paper with the dough onto a baking sheet.
- Repeat the rolling and scoring process with the second half of the dough.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the crackers are crisp.
- Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking them along the score lines.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of dried herbs like rosemary or thyme to the dry mix.
- If the dough is too sticky to handle, add a small amount of extra chickpea flour, one teaspoon at a time.
- Store cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
