Description
A refreshing homemade blueberry mint lemonade perfect for a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup lemon juice (from about 4–6 lemons)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a blender, combine blueberries, mint leaves, and 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Add the lemon juice, sugar, and remaining 3.5 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint sprigs and a few extra blueberries if desired.
Notes
- For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the sugar.
- You can make a simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water until the sugar dissolves, then letting it cool. This ensures the sugar is fully incorporated.
- Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy version.
