Description

A refreshing homemade blueberry mint lemonade perfect for a hot day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup lemon juice (from about 46 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine blueberries, mint leaves, and 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  2. Add the lemon juice, sugar, and remaining 3.5 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  4. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint sprigs and a few extra blueberries if desired.

Notes

  • For a less sweet lemonade, reduce the sugar.
  • You can make a simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water until the sugar dissolves, then letting it cool. This ensures the sugar is fully incorporated.
  • Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy version.
