Description
A refreshing spritzer with blackberries and honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup water
- 1 liter sparkling water or club soda
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the blackberries, honey, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the blackberries soften and release their juices.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Strain the blackberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
- Chill the blackberry syrup in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice.
- Add about 2-3 tablespoons of the blackberry syrup to each glass.
- Top with sparkling water or club soda.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
- Stir gently and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of honey to your desired sweetness.
- You can use frozen blackberries if fresh are not available.
- The blackberry syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
