- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the ground black pepper.
- Pour in the chicken broth, oyster sauce (if using), and sugar. Stir well.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until it thickens slightly, about 1-2 minutes.
- Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use coarse ground black pepper for a stronger flavor.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
