- 8 slices thick bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for batter)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 cup crushed cornflakes (for topping)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for the batter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Place the soaked bread in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, crushed cornflakes, melted butter, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for the topping.
- Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the bread slices.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the French toast is set.
- Cut into portions and serve warm.
