Simple recipe for making crispy jalapeno poppers using an air fryer.

- 12 fresh jalapeno peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil spray
Instructions
- Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and white membranes.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, garlic powder, and salt until combined.
- Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeno half.
- Press the panko breadcrumbs lightly onto the top of the cheese filling.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Lightly spray the poppers with olive oil spray.
- Place the poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove carefully and serve warm.
Notes
- For less heat, remove all seeds and white pith from the peppers.
- You can substitute shredded Monterey Jack for cheddar cheese.
- If you prefer a crispier coating, you can dip the filled peppers in a beaten egg before coating with breadcrumbs.
