Description
A simple recipe for crispy hash brown potatoes made in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large potatoes, peeled
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Grate the peeled potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
- Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is key for crispiness.
- In a bowl, toss the dried potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
- Place the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder with the salt and pepper.
- Do not skip squeezing the water out of the potatoes; this prevents steaming.
